Are there still explorers?
Yes! One of the planet's great explorers, Robert Ballard, founded his Institute for Exploration in Mystic, CT. he realized that the Earth's surfaces have all been mapped. The depths of its oceans still hold unknown treasures. He has found many.

Follow Ballard's 2014 Black Sea Expedition. It discovered over 40 ancient ships, some tht sailed 2400 years ago. Deep, cold and airless waters preserved these ancient trading vessels, their cargos and their stories.

Build a Greek merchant ship and fill it with cargo to be traded around the Black Sea. Make amphora – the shipping containers of the ancient world – and fill them with wine, olive oil, honey, and grain to be traded for fish and gold – the riches of the Black Sea region. We will construct a map that is a menu shaped by the seafarers whose adventures enriched the world's tables.
